Brandied Port: A Classic Mid-Century Winter Warmer
The Brandied Port represents a traditional approach to combining fortified wine with distilled spirits. The drink dates back to at least 1949, when it appeared in Esquire's Handbook for Hosts Esquire. It was also called the Brandied Port before gaining recognition as the Sensation Esquire.

RECIPE:
1½ oz brandy
1½ oz tawny port
¼ oz maraschino liqueur (optional)
½ oz lemon juice (optional)
Method:
Add all ingredients to shaker with ice
Shake well until chilled
Strain into chilled cocktail glass
Garnish with lemon or orange twist
