Crisp Romaine Caesar Salad

Recipe by Jeanine Donofrio and Phoebe Moore · Love and Lemons

Caesar salad succeeds when its textures stay distinct. The Love and Lemons version uses romaine, croutons and shaved Parmesan with a dressing built around mayonnaise. It offers an approachable route to the familiar combination of crisp leaves and a savory, creamy finish.

Our serving suggestion: use this as the green course beside a simple main rather than loading it with several extras. A large bowl gives the leaves room to move when serving. If you need a vegetarian version, read the source’s notes on Parmesan and Worcestershire sauce rather than assuming every product will suit the meal.
